WideClick Trackball

WideClick Trackball – Making Computer Access Easier

Project Description:
WideClick Trackball is an accessible pointing device that replaces small mouse buttons with large pressure-sensitive surfaces. It allows users with limited motor precision or older adults to navigate computers more easily.

What it does:
The trackball moves the cursor, while large click surfaces and optional external switches enable comfortable and accurate clicking.

How it works:
The device consists of a trackball, two large left/right click surfaces, a pressure-sensitive panel, and ports for external switches. The modular design allows for future adaptability and wireless connection.

Future plans:
Next steps include testing with more users, refining click force, exploring modular bases, adding alternative control methods like joystick-style levers, and developing a wireless version. The goal is an affordable, accessible, and easy-to-manufacture device for families, schools, and rehabilitation centers.
